My Life Through a Lens #2

Light Up the Night

This was taken on Pier 39 in San Francisco and it didn't take long to become one of my favorite shots.  My mom and I took a trip there in early december and this was the end of our third day.  Maybe an hour before I took this we'd stumbled upon the gallery of Rodney Lough Jr. He's a nature photographer that is considered the Ansel Adams of color, and his work left an instant impression on me.  I immediately wanted to be a photographer of his magnitude, but he has decades of wisdom in the field, I have a year and a half...  Luckily I realized I have plenty of time so I didn't let it get me down. Instead I walked out of the gallery, found a good angle, and snapped this shot.  Once I reviewed it, I walked back to the hotel with a little more spring in my step.  Sure it's not anything amazing, but it's a step in the right direction, and at that moment, it was exactly what I'd envisioned when setting up the scene.  Epic!!!

much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often.

Did you hire out a designer to create your theme? Outstanding work!

    1. Nope, it's just a Blogger template. I threw up a picture of mine for the background and then just darkened the text area for easier reading. I think it was a travel template.
